Hello my Name is Lilia. Why am I here? It started with a CBS Sunday morning story on Jane Fonda. I walk daily and eat pretty clean, but my body.. nothing like it used to be. Sure it changes when you have children, get older, drink wine. You know, Life. I have been wondering where my body really went. There are great workouts out there. There is the Bar Method, Pilates, kickboxing, Zumba and then there's a personal trainer. Who has the money? Some of these classes are as high as $300-$500 a month! Well then back to my Sunday Morning Story of Jane Fonda. I could not believe this lady is 73! It brought me back to me at 16. I bought my first VHS tape of The Jane Fonda Workout in 1986. I wore that tape out! Not only did I wear it out, I knew it by heart. I would sometimes do the video 2 times in a row! As I was reminiscing, I realized that Jane, did those videos in her early 40's! About the same age I am now. I then proceeded to find her old workout video on the web. They are all on Ebay. They have never converted my trusty video to DVD. I don't own a VHS player anymore so that wasn't going to work. I finally found it on Youtube. The whole workout! I decided that I was going to do this video. I bookmarked the advanced workout, because clearly I am not a beginner. I suited up and did the video. Lets just say, by the middle of the workout I was contemplating switching to the beginner workout! What was I thinking?? I could barely lift my legs, and my form? Lets just say roly-poly. Wow, I don't remember it being this difficult?! I chalked it up to my workout clothes. I needed a leotard. One of those 1980's leotards. I then drove to Target to find the right one. Who would have thought Target doesn't carry leotards? I bought the closest thing; booty shorts and a camisole. I did get home and purchase 2 vintage 1980's leotards on ETSY. They are on their way. It wasn't stopping there, I put my alarm to 6 AM for the next day. Problem was, I couldn't get out of bed. I was so sore! I worked out things I have not worked out in years! I took the day off. I set my alarm for the next day. I managed to get up still so sore and I did it again. Harder than the first time. Anyways, I did it.
This is how it began. Why I am here. My mission? To see if this vintage video will change my body, maybe bring it back to half the body it was back in the day. This will be fun... follow my little journey. Next post: A before picture with me in my leotard, possible side ponytail. lol
